ABOUT ME
I’m a self-taught graphic designer and illustrator who uses visual art to fill theCustom portrait paintingCustom portrait painting underrepresentation of Afro culture in the design world. My art aims to break barriers and bring more recognition to Afro-graphic design and illustration, a field where few artists have gained significant notoriety.
While I didn’t attend fine arts or communication school, my curiosity, creativity, and determination have driven me to create over 300 works since 2015. I’ve honed my skills using open-source software and gained solid knowledge of production and printing processes. Graphic art has become both a passion and a powerful identity statement, and I’m proud to contribute to the growth of this space.
MY STYLE
My illustration style is defined by very bright colors and a mix of abstract, realistic, geometric, and organic shapes, often blended together. I create dynamic visuals without text, using digital effects to enhance depth and texture. Afro culture significantly influences my work, where I portray human or imagined characters, faces, and abstract representations of the human form, often with exaggerated features.
I work with open-source software like GIMP, Illustrator, Scribus, and Affinity, across my tablet, laptop, and desktop. My main influences stem from Cubism, African, and South American artists, and I draw inspiration from a variety of sources, including books, nature, news, museums, exhibitions, and everyday life.
